What Sets Our Immersion Apart from Other “Immersion” Preschools

August 27, 2025

The word “immersion” is often used loosely in early education. At Sing in Chinese Preschool, we practice full Mandarin immersion—and there’s a big difference between that and programs where Chinese is just a small part of the day.

True immersion means Mandarin is spoken throughout the school day, not just during a designated language block. In our classrooms, we speak Chinese consistently, whether we’re singing, reading a story, setting the table, or playing outside. This creates a complete language environment, allowing children to acquire Mandarin the way native speakers do—through natural interaction and repetition

Some programs labeled as immersion include occasional lessons or songs in Chinese but still rely heavily on English. While that exposure may be helpful, it doesn’t offer the same deep learning benefits as a full immersion experience. Consistency is key.

We often welcome children who transfer from other “immersion” schools. Their parents are amazed by the difference. Within weeks, they start noticing their children using more Mandarin at home, showing more confidence, and engaging more deeply with the language.

If you’re looking for an authentic immersion experience that nurtures fluency and a true love for the language, we invite you to schedule a tour and see full immersion in action.
